Traditional Homes

Is your home drafty, and cost a small fortune to heat. Is it freezing cold at the overhangs, or living space above the garage? Is the box joists insulated? Is the basement too cold to use as a living space. These are excellent candidates to sprayfoam insulation.

Box Joists, - this is primarily the perimeter joists on your house, usually not well insulated and poorly vapour barriered. Our Walltite product will be sprayed to a thickness of 4 to 5 inches to provide insulating value, air seal and a vapour barrier.

Basement walls,-  If a major renovations are going to happen down in the basement. Check to see if it is insulated, you should be able to find R12 batt insulation and 6 mil poly, otherwise, why spend the money, if you can not use it because it is too cold. Four inches of sprayfoam insulation could be the solution to a drafty basement.

Living space above the garage. If it has insulation why is it so cold? There is a high probability that they are relying on the resin in the plywood as the vapour barrier and air barrier. The other issue could be that if there is poly sheeting it is on the cold side of the insulation. Keeping in mind, that the garage is likely kept just above freezing in the winter time, thus it is siphoning out the heat out of the living quarters. It could be time to remove the drywall ceiling, insulation and sprayfoam the plywood with Walltite Eco v2, which will act as thermal barrier, air barrier and vapour barrier in one material.
